Summer Exhibition 2
8th Aug - 25th Sep
Artwork By: Kevin Hunter
A late summer Exhibition featuring works by two contemporary Artists Kevin Hunter & Bob Brown

BOB BROWN
Bobs career in art and design began in 1970 when he graduated from Glasgow - Dip ID, CSD., and went on to work in architecture and design for the next 20 years designing and project managing within the building and shipping industries on 4 continents. During his work abroad he frequently gave lectures to students and professionals on design technique and worked on his painting style and sketchbooks.
In 1990 Bob attended Teacher Training at Jordanhill and obtained a degree in teaching and advanced pedagogy. He began teaching Art, Design and Construction at James Watt College and Drawing and Painting at Strathclyde University and continued both till 2010 when he concentrated on his work at University only and on further developing his own style of painting. He attended Reading University in 1992 (part time) and studied for a post graduate degree in building conservation graduating in 1994 with RICS (bldg. cons.).
Bob has, since then, retired from full time work and now concentrates on his painting which he produces from his studio at Loch Fyne. Bobs earlier work has an easy ,soft, expressionist style which although now moving more towards a graphic almost architectural lean tends to be his fail safe or fall back position. His subjects are mainly landscapes but he loves to introduce buildings or ships to add scale when ever he can. He is comfortable using watercolour, oil or acrylic mediums and is happy working on miniature commissions or 30ft long community art wall paintings. He is confidant that his drawing ability and his use of colour are what keeps his paintings popular with his regular customers.

Kevin Hunter
I was born and raised in the small ship building town of Greenock, about 30 miles west of Glasgow, Scotland. I have been painting since the age of 10. Having studied Interior Design in Glasgow, my background hopefully adds an interesting dimension to the artworks. I achieved national design awards during my studies and after graduating worked in the field of film and theatre set design. Eventually I found myself interested solely in painting. The contemporary artworks vary from representational to abstract atmospheric oil paintings and prints depicting Scotlands landscapes. Influences include travel, film and music and perhaps most of all, Scotlands beautiful ever changing scenery
