David Morrison 1958 - 2011
It is with a heavy heart that I have to report that David Morrison passed away Sunday 25th September. We will miss him firstly as a friend and also in the gallery as great Artist. His memory will live on in the fantastic work he leaves behind. He wont be forgotten.

David was born & brought up in Falkirk & moved to Ardentinny in Argyll in 1974, he went on to study at Duncan of Jordanson College of Art in Dundee, graduating with BA(hons) in fine Art in 1989. David has delighted the Art world with his painting ever since. He has been inspired by the Argyll landscape with its dramatically changing mood & ever changing Scottish weather, he captures the moment confidently, working with a limited palette of luminous tones of blue, he records the landscapes most contrasting light & dark hues of sunlight & shade.
Brought up surrounded by boats David often includes the subject in his work, brightly coloured hulls appear frequently on the horizon & sometimes take over the painting completely. The juxtaposition of colour in his painterely technique delight the viewer even in his popular pastel work . Drawing is the sound basis for all good paintings, Davids work demonstrates this to perfection.

These images are of Davids Paintings. David s wife Annie has kindly allowed us to show on the web site
